Domestic Rainwater Harvesting

Domestic Rainwater Harvesting

Save Money By Using Rainwater For Toilet Flushing, Washing Machines & Dishwashers

Domestic Rainwater Harvesting: Systems work by taking the rain from your roof gutters, filtering out the leaves and debris and storing this water in an underground tank.  The water from this tank, can then be pumped into the house to be used for non-potable applications such as toilet flushing, washing machines, dishwashers.  Once the tank is empty, the system automatically switches to mains supply.

The concrete tank is made up in one rectangular unit with a lid placed on top. The tank is placed underground so that the water is stored in dark and cool conditions. The tank is connected to the main supply so that when the water level drops to a minimum level the system automatically tops up with mains water, therefore a constant water supply is maintained.A submersible pump, pumps the water to the point of use or tank in the attic. The pump will start operating the moment the pressure in the line drops i.e.(tap is turned on).
